ASIA PACIFIC REGION FORMATORS/CCC MEETING 2010

From September 6-15, around thirty members of the Congregation of of the Mission gathered in Sydney for the Asia Pacific Region Formators/Culture and Community Meeting 2010. There were representatives present from China, Fiji Indonesia, India (North and South), Papua New Guinea, the Philippines, Solomon Islands, Thailand, USA (Western Province), Vietnam and Australia. The group met at the Chevalier Resource Centre at Kensington (Sacred Heart Monastery) in the south eastern suburbs of Sydney.
The major focus of the Conference was around Workshops on "Human Formation" (Br Michael Hill FMS) and "Accompaniment Skills Workshop" (E. Crotty and A. Nelson). Talks were also given by Frs Robertus Wijanarko CM, Aplinar Senaparti CM, Serfafin Peralta CM, Paul Baranti CM, and Greg Cooney CM (Provincial of Province of Australia), With reflection and discussion time, celebration of the Eucharist and Prayer, the days were well occupied.

A break of two days occurred on the weekend of September 11-12 when the group visited Taronga Park Zoo, then Manly, and also St Vincent's Ashfield, concelebrating the 10 am Mass at Ashfield on Sunday and enjoying a barbecue afterwards. Below are some photos of the Sunday barbecue.
