FIRST TONGAN VINCENTIAN ORDAINED TO PRIESTHOOD

Fr Papila Tonga CM
Papila Tonga CM was ordained a priest on December 14, 2010 in the Cathedral at Nuku'alofa, the Capital of Tonga, by Bishop Paini Mafi -- the Bishop of Tonga. Papila is the first Tongan Vincentian. There were five others were ordained with him -- four priests for the Diocese of Tonga and one priest for the Marist Fathers. Vincentian Confreres who attended were: Fr Alan Gibson CM, Fr Alan Finn CM, Fr Lario Nacola CM, Br Beato Senivatalala CM, Fr Jori Bilowalu CM, and Fr Greg Cooney CM (Provincial of the Australian Province of the Vincentians).
Papila's Mass of Thanksgiving will be celebrated December 21 in Vava'u (his home island).
