ASIA-PACIFIC VISITORS' CONFERENCE MEETING

2008

The Asia-Pacific Visitors’ Conference (APVC) of the CMs met this year in the North India Province at Gopalpur-on -Sea from March 9-14. Present at the meeting were the Visitors of North India (Fr Mathew Kallamakal CM), South India (Fr Varghese Thottamkara CM), China (Fr John Wang CM), Indonesia (Fr Paulus Suparmono CM), and Australia (Fr Greg Cooney CM). Fr Armada Riyanto CM (Province of Indonesia) was also present and gave a detailed report on the Inservice for the Formators and the Workshop on Vincentian Charism and Culture held at Prigen (Indonesia) from 1 to 15 July 2007.

 The agenda of the meeting included a report on the state of each Province of the region, a review of the budgets for the next year, planning for next year’s Inservice for Formators and the Workshop on Vincentian Charism and Culture, and a revision of the Statutes of the APVC. 

There was also time to make short visits to the orphanage and leprosarium run by the Daughters of Charity in Cuttack, to the hostel and school for tribal children, run by the Vincentians in Gopalpur-on-Sea, and to the Vincentian Philosophy House of Studies.
