Vincent de Paul was born in 1581 at Ranquine, a hamlet near the village of  Pouy (now known as St Vincent de Paul), a few kilometres from Dax in the south-west of France. He died  in Paris in 1660. A number of places which were significant in his life  can remind us of his greatness.  Some of these places are depicted below as they are today.
